

John L. Fritz
John L. Fritz has practiced criminal law in Texas for over 12 years. After graduating magna cum
laude from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio in 1996, he began his legal career as
a briefing attorney for Chief Justice Paul Green at the Court of Appeals for the 14th Judicial District
of Texas in Houston. He then held the same position with Justice Sarah Duncan at the 4th Judicial
District of Texas in San Antonio before moving on to work as a judicial clerk for Judge Sharon Keller
at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin - the highest criminal court in the state.
He worked for a short time as a criminal prosecutor under Bexar County Criminal District Attorney
Steve Hilbig. He then began working as an advocate for the criminal accused, first in San Antonio,
then with the law firm of Dunham & Rogers, P.C. in Fort Worth, and finally with the Law Office of
John L. Fritz in Dallas.
John practices criminal law exclusively, focusing primarily on Dallas County cases. He practices in
both State and Federal Court, and he handles both trial and appellate representation. He is Board
Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
John maintains a continuing dedication to further education in the area of criminal law, and he
belongs to the Dallas County Bar Association Criminal Law Section, the Dallas Criminal Defense
Lawyers' Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers' Association, the National Association of
Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Criminal Law Section of the Federal Bar Association.
